Of all the photos, I have saved of my dogs; I think I cherish the goofy ones the best. The ones where they are just acting like dogs and most people don’t get to see.
Behind Cady is a Poke Weed plant. Yes, there is a song (Poke Salad Annie) about it written and performed by Tony Joe White in 1969 and then sung Elvis Presley in 1970.
It’s poisonous. The toxins in Pokeweed, depending on what source you’re working from, range from deadly to mild.
With caution, young leaves and stems in the spring, before any red has crept into them, are harvested by legions of foragers and boiled in at least two changes of water, discarding the water afterward.

I had a tattoo done a long time ago for my 4 original Labrador Retrievers when they were all still with me. Now it serves as a tribute to them as they have all moved on to the rainbow bridge.
I’ve been thinking about doing something for Cady for awhile now. Today was the day. Here’s my fresh ink for Cady.
The tattoo for my original 4 labs.
And the whole upper arm.
Have a great 4th of July weekend everyone! Here are a few photos of Cady in her Independence Day accouterment.
I’m doing all right, getting good grades • The future’s so bright, I gotta wear shades • I gotta wear shades
Just a few new photos of Cady from our early morning Sunday walk. I love her expressions.
My thanks to Home Depot for being dog friendly. Cady loves to go with me when I have purchases to make or projects to plan with items to be looked at. The staff is always friendly to her and she enjoys getting the pets and kisses from them. She enjoys walking the isles inside and out and seeing all of the customers. It’s a great place to practice sits, downs, walking on lead and walking next to a shopping cart. There are lots of visual distractions and sounds for her to navigate when we make our way through the store. She always makes a new friend or two when we go there.
Just a few sunny day photos of Cady from today while on our walk and a link to a video of her.
Cady turned 7 on Sunday April 23rd. She indulged in peanut butter cake from the local dog bakery. Went on 2 car rides, 2 big walks, got lots of butt rubs (you know, that spot on their back right above the tail base), ear scratches and a little steak for dinner.
I brought her home from the humane society on May 14th 2016. She was a great find and we have been having lots of fun since she moved in with me.
